Measurement-based nonlinear modeling of spectral regrowth

چکیده
This paper investigates the ability of nonlinear models extracted from measured continuous wave (CW) amplifier data to predict the amplifier response to modulated signals in compression. Experimental verification of the nonlinear model prediction is hereby performed using nonlinear vectorial network analyzer (NVNA) measurements.

Measurement Based Behavioral Modeling of Components under Modulated Large- Signal Operating Conditions
It is shown in this paper how measurement based behavioural models can be build that accurately predict effects which are present under modulated large-signal operating conditions. The effects modelled include compression, AM-to-PM, spectral regrowth, harmonics, large signal-input match,....
متن کاملCharacterization of Spectral Regrowth in Microwave Amplifiers Based on the Nonlinear Transformation of a Complex Gaussian Process
A statistical technique is presented for the characterization of spectral regrowth at the output of a nonlinear amplifier driven by a digitally modulated carrier in a digital radio system. The technique yields an analytical expression for the autocorrelation function of the output signal as a function of the statistics of the quadrature input signal transformed by a behavioral model of the ampl...
متن کاملNonlinear Modeling and Analysis on Concurrent Amplification of Dual-Band Gaussian Signals
In the recently developed Flexible Wireless System (FWS), the same platform needs to deal with different wireless systems. This increases nonlinear distortion in its wideband power amplifier (PA) because the PA needs to concurrently amplify multi-band signals. By taking higher harmonics as well as interand cross-modulation distortion into consideration, we have developed a method to analyticall...
متن کاملMultitone Frequency-Domain Simulation of Nonlinear Circuits in Large- and Small-Signal Regimes - Microwave Theory and Techniques, IEEE Transactions on
Computer simulation of general microwave nonlinear circuits excited by a large number of input tones is addressed. The algorithm, based on the spectral-balance method, uses novel index-vector and convolution-matrix generation techniques. That, in conjunction with a new nonlinear-device modeling approach (which directly takes into account the higher order derivatives of the I=V and Q=V character...
متن کاملPredicting Spectral Regrowth Of an OFDM Signal Through A Power Amplifier Behavioural Model With Memory Effects
Behaviour models for power amplifiers (PA) have traditionally been developed based on conventional AM-AM and AM-PM curves from one-tone measurements, which discounts the presence of memory in the system. Multi-stage high power amplifiers require a more accurate behavioural model to provide a better description of memory effects and highly nonlinear characteristics than the memoryless models bas...
